Danny Dubbz is a UK Garage DJ, producer and remixer whose career connects London's pirate-radio culture with major-label releases and live club and festival sets.

Raised on the sounds of South London's airwaves, Danny found his way into UK Garage through record shops, vinyl and a fascination with DJ EZ's mixing. Before the production credits and club bookings, there was the microphone—and MC Fanta-C.

Today, his sets bring together UK Garage, house and party anthems, drawing on more than two decades behind the decks. Alongside his solo DJ work, Danny regularly teams up with MC Loopz.

Trips to Slammin' Vinyl in Kingston and time on the Uptown forums helped turn an early interest into a life in music. Danny bought his first records before he owned turntables, then built a collection around evenings and weekends working at his local supermarket.

After co-founding Rampage FM as MC Fanta-C, he developed his DJing and later appeared on stations including Freeze FM, Ice Cold FM, Raw Mission FM, Flex FM and Delight FM. Production followed, with early tracks circulated on CDs, through specialist DJs and on the emerging online UK Garage scene.

His remixes of Case's “Missing You” and Keith Sweat's “Twisted” helped establish his name, with support from DJs including EZ, Cameo and DJ Q. Original material followed, including “Don't Wanna Fight” with Tam and “Runaway” featuring Davinah.

Major-label remix work and a longstanding Ministry of Sound connection broadened that reach. Danny continues to produce, remix and DJ, keeping the swing and energy of UK Garage at the centre of his sound.

The story starts on the mic.

In 2001, Dan co-founded pirate station Rampage FM as MC Fanta-C, broadcasting UK Garage and 2-step on 98.1 and 99.7 FM. The station started in South Wimbledon, moved to Leatherhead and later settled in Kingston upon Thames, with Fanta-C on the mic throughout.

By 2004, equipment thefts by rival stations had taken their toll. Rampage relaunched under a new name: Kurupt FM. Among those who played on the station in that period were Allan “Seapa” Mustafa and Hugo Chegwin, who later became co-creators of the BAFTA-winning People Just Do Nothing and its fictional pirate station of the same name.

The real Kurupt FM ran for just under a year before going off air. Dan went on to produce and remix as Danny Dubbz.
